We were delighted to welcome David Burton-Sampson, Labour MP for Southend West and Leigh, and his Parliamentary Assistant Matilda, to Formara on Friday.
Discussion on key issues
Their visit provided an opportunity to discuss a range of topics close to our hearts, from sustainability and apprenticeships to education, local employment, and the future of the print industry.
Opportunities for young people
David showed a genuine interest in how we’re helping to create new opportunities for young people in Southend while maintaining the craft and quality that has defined Formara for over five decades. We talked about the vital role that print continues to play in communication, marketing, and community engagement, and how the sector is evolving through innovation and environmental responsibility.
Supporting Southend’s economy
It was refreshing to meet an MP who not only understands the value of local business but is actively championing initiatives to strengthen Southend’s economy and support skills development across the region.
Commitment to sustainability
At Formara, our focus remains on sustainable growth, investing in people, processes, and technologies that enable us to deliver exceptional print for clients nationwide while reducing our environmental impact.
Dedication and longevity
As Southend’s longest-running print company, employing 28 local people, we’re proud of the commitment our team continues to show. This year alone, we’ve celebrated the retirement of six long-serving colleagues, each with between 20 and 37 years of service, a true testament to the loyalty and family-spirit that defines our business.
Shared vision for Southend’s future
We’re grateful to David Burton-Sampson MP for taking the time to visit and for engaging in such a constructive conversation about the opportunities ahead for both Formara and the wider Southend business community.
