Many of the conversations we now have with clients start in the same place.

They are under pressure to move faster, test ideas, and avoid committing to print quantities that no longer make sense. Campaigns change quickly, messaging evolves, and timelines are tighter than ever. Print still plays an important role, but it has to work in a smarter, more flexible way.

That shift is exactly why we have invested in new inkjet production technology to expand our short run colour capacity at Formara.

Responding to how our clients actually use print

More organisations are moving away from single, large print runs. Instead, they are running campaigns in phases, refining creative, personalising content, and responding to results as they go.

To support that way of working, print needs to be quicker to turn around, easier to adapt, and viable in smaller quantities, without compromising on quality.

Our latest investment allows us to do exactly that.

What we have added, and why it matters to you

As part of this upgrade, we have installed the Kirk-Rudy Firejet 4C, a production inkjet system designed specifically for flexible, short run colour capacity print jobs.

In practical terms, this means our clients can now produce high-quality, full bleed colour print across a much wider range of materials. These include envelopes, postcards, flyers, posters, gift bags, coffee sleeves, napkins, and coasters.

For clients looking to streamline campaign delivery, this also strengthens our ability to provide integrated print and mail and print and send services. Campaign materials can now be produced, personalised, and prepared for distribution within the same controlled workflow. This reduces handovers, shortens lead times, and supports phased or test campaigns where speed and accuracy matter just as much as print quality.

For many clients, this opens up more creative options and removes barriers between planning an idea and bringing it to life in print.

Removing trade-offs, not adding complexity

A common scenario we see is a marketing team wanting to trial a campaign with a smaller, targeted print run, review the response, then refine the messaging or creative before rolling out the next phase.

Historically, that approach often meant compromises on speed, cost, or quality. This investment removes those trade-offs.

By bringing this capability in-house, our clients can benefit from faster turnaround times, more flexible quantities, and better cost control, particularly for campaigns that involve frequent updates or personalised content.

Integrated colour management helps ensure consistency, while improved production efficiency allows work to move through smoothly, even at short notice.

Short Run Colour Capacity, considered long term investment

After more than five decades in print, we have learned that the most valuable investments are the ones that remove friction for clients, not the ones that simply add capacity.

This latest addition reflects how print is being used today and how we believe it will continue to be used in the future. Shorter runs, smarter campaigns, and closer alignment between print and marketing strategy.

If you are reviewing how print fits into your next campaign, we would be happy to share how organisations are using more flexible, short-run print to stay responsive and effective.
