In 2006, Formara were one of the first printing companies in the UK to gain accreditation the Environmental Standard ISO14001. This early commitment to responsible environmental management set objectives that paved the way for continual improvements to reduce our impact on the world we live in.
Forward fast to 2019 and the initiatives Formara has put in place ensure work that you place with us is processed using some of the most environmentally friendly practises available in the industry today.
Digital on-demand printing enables the exact quantity you need to be printed and reprinted, reducing waste which in turn benefits you as your printed documents can always be up to date
The use of Vegetable based inks in the litho process reduces our reliance on oil based products with no reduction in the quality of your printed documents.
Through Carbon Offsetting we balance our CO2 emissions through investing in avoidance measures and renewable energy generation helping to combat climate change and sustaining our environment for future generations.
Our papers are sourced from sustainable suppliers who themselves conform to ISO14001 and conform to the UK Timber Regulations.
We are reducing our reliance on single use plastics. Our aim is to reduce the use of plastics in all our packaging within two years. This requires an ongoing investigation of the replacement products available as technology catches up with the world’s demand to reduce plastic with viable alternatives.
Recycled papers from Formara are available in uncoated, silk and gloss finishes and produced from 100% post-consumer waste. These are high quality papers that create the same quality feel as our normal papers. There is a ‘natural’ paper alternative to give that recycled look and feel that you may desire for your brand. If you would like a sample swatch please get in touch.
Waterless plate processing has more than halved our water use. It has also removed a large number of the chemicals we previously would have needed to process the printing plates
Since 2020, 75% of our fleet of company cars cars has been replaced with all electric vehicles. By 2022 this will be 100% and by 2025 we anticipate our delivery vehicles will be electric too.
LED lighting throughout our offices and production factory areas has improved the environment for our staff and reduced the power consumption by over 50%
According to Sciencing.com, landfill is responsible for the release of methane gas which traps 20 times more heat than carbon dioxide. Our landfill waste continues to reduce with virtually all waste now being recycled.
